Little did we know that working from home would become the new normal. Amidst the Covid-19 crisis, it is imperative that we stay indoor, maintain social distances and follow through the government health guidelines. It’s the only way to contain this pandemic. Remember, it is only in our own best interests. While a lot of you would be working from home already, here’s our pitch to setting your “work from home” mood & desk right.
Thinking why a snacking company is talking about this?
Well, you’d be surprised to know, we operate as a virtually connected team with members working in Delhi, Mumbai, Pune on all days, with our production facility in Jaipur. It’s a complex yet interesting structure. It’s brings about the best in all of us – a unique way of operating an e-commerce business. That’ the beauty of the tech world. Isn’t it?
Now here are our key points to set the right momentum of working from home:
1. Find your “zen” den
You will have that one corner in your house, you’d want to be in when you want to be with just by yourself or where your most creative (“crazy”) ideas come to life. That’s your desk space. Put a “dips” and set up right there.
2. Add some greens on or around your desk
Add a little planter. Seeing life grow adds a lot of positive energy and vibrance to our moods. It’s a proven HR trick! It helps break monotony & boredom and creates a pleasant distraction.
3. Keep some snacks on the desk
While you are home, and the kitchen is close by, remember one thing: it’s business, as usual! Keep some ready to eat snacks by your side as you would do in your office. (Hey, remember us, your snacking friends!).
PS: while everything is in lockdown, you can still place your order – we’ll ship it once logistics are back on track. Order link: https://www.omayfoods.com
4. Finally, add some music!
After all, you are freakin’ working from home. And a little unproductive distraction is okay! But remember, to turn it off, when the meeting takes place :p.
It’s important during this time that we stay indoors and avoid any non-essential travel. We encourage, if you can, please work from home. Be indoor, eat right, and stay healthy. See you on the other side.
