How to keep your heart healthy, this World Heart Day

How to keep your heart healthy, this World Heart Day

29th September is observed as the World Heart Day around the globe. It is an initiative of the World Heart Federation, started in the year 2000 as a day to raise awareness about heart ailments and to encourage people to take steps towards better heart health. With Cardiovascular Diseases grabbing the top spot as the world’s most widespread killer, need more be said about the importance of looking after one’s heart?

A Time to Act

Preventing heart diseases is a matter of just making some small changes in one’s life. It’s about a conscious decision to eat healthier, stay fitter and to quit bad health habits. And it is not a tough thing to do, considering that it is you, your family and your near and dear ones who stand to benefit from your willingness to pay attention to your heart.

Eating healthy is one of the most important steps in this process. You might even exercise right and say no to smoking but as long as you keep bombarding your body with wrong, oil-laden, low on nutrition food, all organs are bound to face damage and trauma, and worst of all, your heart, that must subject itself to extra stress to support you.

Sounds bad, right? Because it is. But there is some good news. 80% of premature heart disease cases can be avoided by a simple dietary change.

Make the Choice

The intake of nutrition-rich, light, oil-free meals, not only helps in maintaining a healthy weight and good health, but also keeps one feeling refreshed and contented. But is it just your meals that you should focus on? What about your snack-time favorites? Everybody loves to snack, and everybody knows how unhealthy most of our snacking choices are. Though we know how dangerous these snacks are for us, we still cannot stop binging on them. Indian Bhujia, masala chips and fried snacks, plus the junk food and sweets that we simply cannot resist, all making up the perfect recipe for high-risk cholesterol levels and, in turn, of heart disease.

But what if we told you that some snacks can actually play an important role in providing you with that right dose of nutrition, energy and heart health?

Healthy Snacking  with Omay

With our thoughtfully prepared Omay Snacks, aims at just that. Not only are these snacks 100% oil-free, roasted and with no preservatives, they are also incredibly tasty and heavenly! Comprising of Nuts, Berries, Fruits, Seeds, Lentils, and Cereals, every ingredient in these snacks is carefully chosen for its nutritional value and health benefits and there are a variety of delectable mixes to choose from. Tasty, healthy, and completely binge-worthy!

As Mansi Padechia, a well-known dietician and a fan of Omay snacks put it so aptly, “Fun, flavor and health- Omay Snacks have it all. Since snacking is essential for everyone, why not eat something with health benefits? Omay snacks are rich in protein. My favorite is Oats and Moong, Khatta Meetha and Mixed Berries. Being a Registered Dietician, I always suggest healthy snacks to my clients, especially those with protein and which are genuinely roasted or non-fried.

In a carbohydrate-dominated country like ours, snacks like Omay combine taste with health. The packaging of Omay snacks is also sleek, smart and easy to carry. I completely vouch for Omay as a company with great quality and highly nutritious snacks.”
